Overview
A 4:1 reduction assembly for NEMA 34 stepper motors, for axes that need more torque than the motor gives directly.
The trade is exact and worth understanding before ordering: torque at the output is four times the motor's, and speed is a quarter. On a heavy gantry or a vertical Z axis carrying a large spindle, that is usually the right trade — a motor that stalls under load direct-driven will hold comfortably through a reduction.
Resolution changes with it. Four times as many motor steps now make one turn of the output, so the steps-per-mm figure in your controller must be multiplied by four. Getting this wrong is the most common commissioning error after fitting a reduction, and it shows up as every dimension coming out at a quarter size.
The pinion is 1.5 module standard, and a pulley with a 0.5 inch bore is supplied to fit the motor shaft.

Questions
What does a 4:1 reduction do to my steps per mm?
It multiplies it by four. Four times as many motor steps now make one output revolution, so the controller figure must be updated or every dimension comes out a quarter of the size.
Will it fit my motor?
It is made for NEMA 34 frame stepper motors, and comes with a 0.5 inch bore pulley for the motor shaft. Check your motor's shaft diameter against that before ordering.
Do I lose speed?
Yes — a quarter of the direct-drive speed for four times the torque. On a heavy axis that is normally the right trade; on a fast light axis it is not.
