TNC-G08 : Hot Foil Stamping Machine Controller

Three-motor controller for hot foil stamping machines, with opto-isolated pulse input and manual jogging.

Motors controlled

Display
20 × 4 character LCD
Application
Hot foil stamping

Overview

The TNC-G08 is built for hot foil stamping rather than adapted to it, which is the difference between a machine that runs a job and one that is configured into running it.

It controls three motors and is operated through a 20 × 4 character LCD with menus written for an operator. A manual jogging function moves each axis directly during setup, which is how foil position and stamp registration actually get dialled in — by eye, moving the axis, not by editing numbers.

The pulse input is opto-isolated, keeping the incoming signal's ground separate from the controller's. On a stamping machine that shares a panel with heaters and contactors, that isolation is what keeps electrical noise from being read as position.

Designed and built by Tiny Controls in India, and repairable for the life of the machine.

Questions

Does it control the heater as well as the motors?

The source data lists motor control, the pulse input and jogging. Heater control is not stated, so please confirm with us before ordering if that is required.

Can it be used on a machine other than a foil stamper?

It is built specifically for hot foil stamping. For general-purpose three-axis motion, look at the TNC-G13 or the TNC-M03 instead.

What is the manual jog function for?

Setting up. Foil position and stamp registration are set by moving the axis and looking at the result, not by typing coordinates.
