LRS-350-48 48V/7.3A SMPS
48 V 7.3 A switch-mode power supply, 350.4 W, 220 V AC input, for a stepper-drive DC bus.
Overview
The LRS-350-48 is a Mean Well LRS-350 series switch-mode power supply, taking 90-264 V AC (or 240-370 V DC) and delivering 48 V DC at up to 7.3 A, 350.4 W - a genuine third-party unit, not a Tiny Controls design.
At 48 V it sits between this catalogue's own S-250-48 (5 A, 250 W) and S-500-48 (10 A, 500 W) in current, useful where a machine's combined stepper-drive draw falls between those two ratings. The output voltage is adjustable via an onboard trimmer, roughly 43.2-52.8 V, for fine-tuning against a drive's actual input tolerance.
Overload trips at 110-140% of rated output power. Unlike the lower-voltage LRS-350-24 and LRS-350-36, which recover automatically once a fault clears, this 48 V model shuts down and latches off on an overload, over-voltage or over-temperature fault - it needs the mains power cycled to recover, not just the fault condition removed. Worth knowing before relying on it in an unattended setup. A thermally-controlled fan turns on around 50 ?C case temperature and off around 40 ?C, in a compact 215 x 115 x 30 mm, 0.76 kg case.
As with any stepper-drive supply, size current to the combined peak draw of every axis starting together, not the running average - a stepper drive's current spikes hard during acceleration.
